LGBT: Why do people still use crutches?

Such as, Religion, Smoking, Drinking Alcohol, doing prescription medication. Why do you need crutches, it is 2011. There is no need for the blatant hate and bigotry Religion does nothing but cause, you are utterly pathetic if you smoke, drink or use prescription meds.
