On Y&R why is "Bryton" (Devon) credited with only his first name?

Am I the only one who is annoyed by this? It makes him look conceited like he thinks he's some huge great celebrity or something. I mean, Madonna, Beyonce, Cher. They use their first names but when you hear those names you know who you're referring to. When you hear the name "Bryton" how often do you jump to "That guy on The Young and the Restless who shows up every 2 or 3 months."?
