My Phone wont recieve txts!!...?

Well, i just got a new phone this morning..it is prepaid and i just activated it...i have unlimited txt messaging but it isnt working...my friends can get my txts but they cant send them to me..they'll say they sent it but my phone wont recieve them..it is rly worrying me..i have verizon and we all have coverage..sio i have signal..i have tried to turn my phone off and on but that wont wokr either...plzz...help me!!! idk wat to do..also there was a sign at walmart saying that verizon customers ahve been having troubles for the first 24-48 hours but idk if that is related to txting..plz help me im rly worried tht it will nvr work and ill have to get another phone or something
